Today’s Explorative Design task is about sketching a touch screen interface based on “real” devices. That means we had to chose a device like oven, dishwasher or washing machine and think about how a touch screen could be used instead of buttons and knobs. From my viewpoint it’s quite an interesting and helpful assignment, because right now the overall development of technology is towards touch screens either by using touch screens on devices itself or by connecting devices to smartphones. Therefore interfaces for touch screens are very important.
Today’s Explorative Design task is about sketching actions and emotions. To do so, we had to draw a 5 x 3 field in our sketch book and sketch an action or an emotion of a person into each field.
I haven’t had time last Friday to do the Explorative Design tasks, so today there will be two posts. First up is an assignment of sketching people in different styles on one page of the sketch book.
The next Explorative Design task is all about drawing objects, people and activities. We had to split one page of our sketch book into a 6×4 field and sketch an simple sports or art object into the fields. Quite a fun task if you ask me.
Sooooo, like “spoilered” yesterday, there’s a new daily sketching task from now on: Drawing what you see. So how does this work? Pretty simple actually – you search for a picture and draw it – upside down! ;)
